Walkthrough
On the home page, click the link back to the Thesaurus , or on the following link: http://www.bdsp.tm.fr/TSP3/Default.asp
On the thesaurus, begin the search by specifying the desired term in the field (watch only one term at a time and truncation implicit default = *).
The result indicates
Given a list of terms: keyword accepted in blue, keyword refused gray (this list reflects the syntax used in the thesaurus. For example: no items , no plural etc.).
If the term is not used in the thesaurus, repeat the process by extending your query to synonyms, concepts or close to a class incorporating the concept. For example: "malignant tumor" is not directly accepted as a keyword, it must refer to the category "Pathology" and instead use the keyword "cancer".
Once defined keywords (think go to the most specific, as specific as possible), go to the page with search (Documentary base) from the button "SERVICES", or click the link: http://www.bdsp.tm.fr/Base/QbeA.asp
Enter or keywords in the Keywords field . If multiple keywords to associate, then use the operator "and . The keywords are indicated in brackets. For example: [care] and [child]
Remember to check the options of search and display: year of publication, language, document type article or full text documents etc. .
If you have not found the correct term for your search with the thesaurus, then enter the word that seems most relevant in the input area of the simple search. This allows the engine to perform a search on the all elements of the references (including abstracts and titles) and not only keywords. Think also
field Document title to submit your application, knowing that the title of a document concerning the most often but not always, its contents.

At the display the results list as brief records , select the relevant records, and view the full records clicking. If you are registered on the site you can also pick up leaflets and a selection.
Compare the title and year of the period used with the list of periodicals in the library collection, distributed at the beginning of training and available at section 1.4 The periodical subscriptions.
If the periodical is received at the library, you can see the site (note pre-1990 periodicals are archived).
If the periodical is not received by the library, follow the directions below record BDSP to access the document:
example the gate DocRef ( DocRef ) of INIST- CNRS

An example of research with the BDSP
I am seeking information on tracheostomy care.
I check if the term exists in the thesaurus with the query: tracheo *.
If the word does not exist, then I question the database directly with the term to the simple search page.
The term "Tracheotomy" exists (phew!), It belongs to the category "Health technology". I record
"tracheostomy" in the Champs Keywords of the document database.
A list of brief entries appears.
I select and post the full records that interest me, I compare the list of journals in library membership, and I download the relevant documents in open access.
