Search for an article on PUBMED-MEDLINE with keywords
The bibliographic database PUBMED-MEDLINE ( link ) is produced mainly by NLM (National Library of Medicine ) to U.S. . It contains bibliographic records for items in a large part of the periodical collection at the library in hospital schools. She has since late 2009 of a new search interface. To examine the French, the easiest approach is initially to use the thesaurus MESH to verify the accuracy of terminology.

On the homepage of MESH , click on the search guided by Index: http://mesh.inserm.fr/mesh/search/index. jsp , or tree : http://mesh.inserm.fr/mesh/view/index.jsp
Once on the simple search page, enter in the "French terms" the term for submission.
An asterisk (*) serves as the truncation after your term.
example (so *) gives 214 keywords containing the 3 letters (so) as: assertiveness, self-service ns cancer; self-ns of day, but also ego (French synonym of course) etc..
TIP: Always use truncation (*) right to expand your search. By example (carefully) without truncation gives only 5 results, while (care) * 194 gives more accurate results.
A list of terms displayed. Once a relevant term selected, you can resume its translation ( descriptor English) and get the record terminology full term with the most frequently used definition of the descriptor (c ' is to say the keyword to use on PUBMED ) and its synonyms. This allows you to compare this definition to your own needs.
Go then PUBMED-MEDLINE and enter your descriptor in America in the fields - Search : Pubmed - not forgetting the quotation marks before and after the word and letters [ MH ] brackets immediately contiguous to the term. This report indicates that the descriptor employee from the MESH thesaurus .

Warning, if you use logical operators (Boolean operators) to combine keywords, write the operators AND, OR, NOT (for and, or, not).
example (" epistaxis [ MH] AND" nursing care [ MH]), will return results for "epistaxis "and" nursing ".
If you want results from French documents, click on the link - Advanced search - and check in the section - Languages - Language French (French ), then run the query with the button - Search -.

Warning, this bibliographic database is in English. Even if you are looking for journals indexed are French, the records remain in English.
You still interesting to compare the records with the list of subscriptions to periodicals library (see this site section 1.4 with the list of periodicals subscription). If the periodical is received at the library, you can see the site (note pre-1990 periodicals are archived).
If the periodical is not received by the library, you can query the catalog SUDOC ( http://cuivre.sudoc.abes.fr/ ) by taking the exact title of the periodical or ISSN , and locate the University Libraries of Medicine (including that of Nancy ) and university libraries (including that of Metz ) where the periodical collection is requested (indicating the location document at the top of the page for the full record of periodic end of SUDOC with the button location).
Once verified the availability of periodic form of reproduction (photocopies) for interlibrary loan (ILL ), go to BU Metz and ask the office ready to get the document After your registration reader as to the establishment (by convention free registration for students in hospital schools of Metz ) and opening an account at the office of ILL. An example of research PUBMED-MEDLINE
I am seeking information on bleeding.
on research MESH , I write the query bled * for terms with bleeding or hemorrhage. In the results list, I selected "bleeding" synonym here bleeding, his American counterpart spelled "Hemorrhage".
On PUBMED , I enter the term in the field - Search - "Hemorrhage" [ MH]. I choose the French language (with Advanced search or filter results Limits ) and I run the search.

I display full records interesting, I compare the list of journals subscription library, and I downloaded the Documents freely available ( Free Full Text ). If the magazine does not subscribe to the library schools hospital, I spot on the magazine SUDOC and I request a copy thereof to the PEB .
